Job Opportunity – Room Boy (Utility Staff) – Offshore – Local Content Register

A contractor for Saipem Guyana Inc. is seeking a Room Boy (Utility Staff) to work offshore on a Saipem vessel. The role involves maintaining cleanliness of all vessel areas including cabins, toilets, and offices, as well as supporting laundry services and assisting in the galley during meal services. The selected candidate will be employed by the catering subcontractor and must be prepared to travel globally with the vessel's crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Keeping all areas of the vessel, including all toilets, clean and tidy (washing, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning and sweeping)
- Cleans, mops, sweeps and dusts cabins
- Take part in the washing, drying, and ironing of clothes and other fabric items
- Operate various kinds and types of laundry equipment safely and properly
- Take full responsibility for the laundry service
- Keep the equipment and laundry area clean
- Sorting, washing, loading and unloading machines using correct temperatures depending on fabric types
- Sluicing of linen where necessary, handwashing of crew's clothing as required
- Ironing and pressing of clothing and linen as necessary
- Slicing fruit and preparing for delivery in the offices
- Take care of all offices and distribute necessary materials in all offices on board
- Distributing food in the coffee shop for coffee break
- Take care of the coffee shop during the coffee break
- Helping with deep cleaning in the galley
- Helping in the galley during the meal services
- Helping to unload when food containers arrive
- Helping on the service counter during mealtime service
- Helping to segregate the fruit and vegetables in refrigerators
- Cleaning of crew cabins including changing of bed sheets
- Cleaning of offices
- Working overtime if necessary
