A contractor for Saipem Guyana Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Helper to assist cooks with food preparation, cleaning, and galley operations aboard offshore vessels. The selected candidate will be employed by the subcontractor responsible for catering services on Saipem vessels operating in Guyana. The role requires readiness to work overtime and travel globally with the vessel's crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the cook(s) with food preparation as requested
- Assist in properly labeling, covering and storing unused food after each meal
- Assist in cleaning food preparation areas and equipment
- Assist in inventorying and stocking food products and supplies
- Bus and reset tables in the dining room following meals
- Wash refrigerators, tables, utensils, cabinets and other kitchen items
- Wash dishes and silverware
- Clean food preparation and storage areas
- Clear tables and clean dishes
- Prepare salads
- Slice and arrange cold cuts
- Fill out necessary documents
- Wash the floor in the galley
- Peel vegetables (potato, garlic, onion, carrot)
- Help unload food containers upon arrival
- Assist at the service counter during mealtime service
- Help segregate fruits and vegetables in the refrigerators
- Work overtime if necessary
